Ovulation occurs when an egg is released from the ovary and passes into the fallopian tubes. The sperm is to fertilize the egg within 24 hours after the publication during pregnancy. The body produces a large amount of luteinizing hormone (LH) immediately before ovulation. This usually occurs mid-cycle, and is known as the LH peak.
